Question: How do I enrol?
Answer: Yongala Preschool’s enrolments are managed by the Central Registration Scheme which operates a central enrolment scheme covering most kindergartens located in the City of Boroondara. Enrolment information & application forms can be downloaded online at the City of Boroondara’s website.
Question: Can my child attend 4 year old kinder at Yongala Preschool if they did not attend 3 year old kinder?
Answer: Yes, they can, but please familiarise yourself with the Central Registration Scheme selection criteria which sets priority for allocation of places.
Question: I am interested in joining the committee of management, how do I do this?
Answer: The committee is elected at the Annual General Meeting (AGM) /Information Night held in November. Yongala Preschool is run by a committee of parents, elected each year. There are a range of positions including President, Vice-President, Treasurer, Secretary, Enrolments, Policies, Grants, OH&S, Maintenance and Social and Fundraising.
Question: What if my child is not toilet trained?
Answer: Ideally, your child should be toilet trained before starting kindergarten unless there is a developmental issue Spare clothing should be brought along in case of accidents and educators will encourage all children to use the toilet when needed.
