Communication

Communication is fundamental in ensuring that the optimum environment and learning experiences are provided for the children and collaborative partnership takes place with families.

The Program Book is located next to the sign in book. This allows us to share the plans as well as the reflection on the learning journey your child is experiencing. Weekly reflections and future planning are emailed each week in line with the National quality standard 1:2 “learning and development is assessed as part of an ongoing cycle of planning, documenting and evaluation”

The Children’s Link books are available to take home and share with the family by arrangement and end of term and, finally, you get to keep it at the end of the year. Throughout each term information will be added: samples of your child’s work, photographs, group learning stories, conversations and observations we have made relating to your child. You are also invited to add your own pages to the links book throughout the year, and make comment in the parent response area. All the children’s links books will be stored in the room to encourage each child and family to access at their convenience. Please note and respect individual privacy – Links books are only to be accessed by own family members, unless otherwise invited by the child or parents of that portfolio. We will use this document as a formal and informal means to share your child’s progress and development throughout the year.

Parent/ Educator Exchanges will be offered to families at the mid year point and will entail 10 minute discussion, where once again, we can share information about your child’s progress in relation to the VEYLF and NEYLF outcomes, and any other relevant information that needs to be shared.
